Terms of Service

Abby is an AI-assisted bookkeeping tool that lets you log expenses by sending receipt images or text via Telegram, automatically categorises them, and appends structured records to a Google Sheet you designate. You can also ask Abby natural-language questions about your spending.

Abby is a productivity aid, not a substitute for a licensed accountant, tax adviser, or financial professional. Abby does not provide accounting, legal, or tax advice. Any output from Abby should be reviewed by a qualified professional before being relied upon for regulatory, tax, or financial decisions.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use Abby. By using the service you represent that you meet these requirements.

Abby is intended for use by individuals and businesses. If you are signing up on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must notify us immediately at brendan@bklai.my if you become aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your account where you have failed to keep your credentials secure.

Abby offers a no-card free tier with limited monthly usage (approximately 20 receipts and 10 messages per month). Free accounts do not require a payment method. When you outgrow the free tier, you may subscribe to a paid plan (Solo, Advisor, or Operator).

Paid subscriptions may include a 14-day trial at checkout. Where a trial applies, a valid payment method is required and your card will be charged at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it expires.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected). You can cancel at any time from the billing portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you will retain access until then.

Prices are listed in USD and may be adjusted for local currency based on your billing region. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase before it applies to your next renewal.

All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe a charge is in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge date.

You agree to use Abby only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• ✓Submit false, fabricated, or fraudulent receipts or financial data.
• ✓Use Abby to facilitate tax evasion, money laundering, or any other illegal activity.
• ✓Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Abby's systems, other users' accounts, or any related infrastructure.
• ✓Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Abby.
• ✓Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the service to third parties without our written consent.
• ✓Use automated scripts or bots to interact with Abby in ways not intended by the service.
• ✓Upload malware, viruses, or any other harmful code.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

You retain all ownership rights to the content you submit to Abby — including receipts, transaction descriptions, and any other data. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing and improving the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you submit does not infringe the rights of any third party and complies with applicable law. We do not use your financial content to train AI models, and we do not share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

Abby and all related software, designs, trademarks, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand assets.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use Abby for your own internal business purposes during your subscription term. This licence ends when your subscription ends.

Abby connects to Google (for Sheets), Telegram (for the bot interface), and Stripe (for billing). Your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

If a third-party integration becomes unavailable or changes in a way that affects Abby's functionality, we will use reasonable efforts to find an alternative but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation of integrations we do not control.

Abby is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

AI-generated categorisations and spending answers may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before relying on it for any business, financial, or tax purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from security vulnerabilities.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

In no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Abby and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law; or (d) content you submit through the service.

You may stop using Abby and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we decide to discontinue the service.

Upon termination: your right to access the service ends immediately; data deletion follows the schedule in our Privacy Policy; and Sections 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Abby that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at brendan@bklai.my and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Abby after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using Abby and cancel your subscription before the effective date.
